The Indie Incidents – January 2005

The Indie Incidents – January 2005

The winter season is slowly releasing its hold on the land… although the clouds keep bringing in more rain to nourish the earth.

This Christmas, our favorite Bible passage was from book of Luke 1: 46And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.

Our souls as well magnify the Lord, because He has blessed us with a baby! We discovered that we are pregnant right after Thanksgiving and are thrilled to have a little person join our family! Our baby will be due August 14th this summer! With this wonderful event we realized that it wouldn’t be practical or wise to continue to pursue the Discipleship Training School in Colorado since the last three months are spent over in Middle and Far East countries and we wouldn’t be close to a doctor for prenatal care. This was once again a change in the plan, but after a lot of prayer and counsel from wise people in our lives, we realized that this was the best plan.

So we are moving back to California, Anthony is looking for work, we’re looking for a place to move into, and we’re preparing for our new baby! This past weekend we flew back to Colorado to pick up our car and a few of the things we had left there and drove back home. Praise God that there was only rain and no snow the whole way! Every time we saw a weather report, it predicted snow, but we prayed a lot and Jesus held back the storms for us! Once, we were driving in heavy rain and our windshield wipers got out of sync with each other and looked like they would get caught together. We prayed and they “suddenly” went back into alignment! Yay God!

So if you look back on our lives this year, from a worldly perspective, we haven’t done much… tried to get to Brazil, moved back in with my parents, tried to make Colorado work, moved back in with my parents… but if you look at all the things that God has done in our lives, those are things that we couldn’t have learned otherwise. Things like trusting Him NO MATTER WHAT, learning how to hear His voice and know what His will is for our lives, learning how to lean on Him for everything (even windshield wipers!)… and drawing closer to each other. All these things have done wonders for our marriage and we are so much stronger in our love for each other than we have ever been. Praise God!

Our communication may not be as frequent from here on, but please continue to pray for us: that Anthony would get the job that God wants for him, that we would find a place to live soon, that the baby and I would stay healthy. We’ve been so blessed by your prayers, encouragement and support through this year. In the efforts to stay accountable to those who have supported us monetarily for this adventure, we are in the process of accumulating all receipts in a small expense report. We are aware of the fact that all the money didn’t go EXACTLY where it was intended, so we would like everyone to know what was done with it, from the start of our Brazil preparation to our 3 months in Colorado. If you would like a copy of this report, just let us know, and we’d love to send it to you. We love you all so much, and deeply appreciate all that you have done in supporting and loving on us during all these adventures. God bless! The Indies
